Introduction to the Art of Information Searching
Janne Hietala was introduced to information searching at young age which shaped his ability to rapidly learn new things which was instrumental for his successes for the next 20+ years of his professional and personal life.
Very few people have actually applied the methodological approach to searching, which he has developed and found to be very rewarding, both for fun and profit. He will reference some of the original sources dating back to early 2000 which remain very relevant today. Internet and social networks have changed a lot and understanding this change and how it’s shaping our thinking is a critical part for how we are going to survive the ongoing challenges and changes in our society (both digital and real world). The purpose of this presentation is (hopefully) to help you realize that everything you always wanted to learn or know - is already - has been - or will be already available. What is needed is an efficient way to find the critical information you need and process it into actionable knowledge. This ability is one of the most powerful skills you can have.
