In this lesson, students will discover there is more to research than a simple Google query. They will learn how to be savvy consumers of information by identifying evaluative criteria, thinking critically about resources, and generating effective search strategies. Students will also be introduced to the concept of academic integrity through real world examples and methods for avoiding plagiarism. The lesson will conclude with instruction and support for generating a properly formatted MLA Works Cited.
